Multi-Material Printing

With AMS, Bambu Lab printers can use snap-away support material or dissolvable filament to minimize the pain of removing supports.

Filament Backup

Advanced Intelligent System
Powered by a 32-bit MCU, sensor arrays, actuators, and a smart algorithm, the AMS has reached unprecedented levels of intelligence.
It expertly manages filament loading and unloading, along with efficient fault detection and recovery.
Filament Tangle Detection
When the filament at the toolhead encounters resistance, it may be that the filament is tangled or the spool is stuck, AMS can detect it immediately and suspend printing to avoid air printing.
Say Goodbye to Wet Filaments
Filament that has absorbed moisture can lead to print quality issues and poor layer adhesion, or even nozzle clogging that can lead to a failed print.
Keep the Filament Dry
The AMS has an air-tight seal and with the help of desiccant material, it absorbs moisture to keep the moisture away from Filament.
A Humidity Sensor also detects the humidity inside the AMS and provides information to the user when the humidity is higher or the dessicant may need to be replaced.
For best print quality, dry filament is required.
Automatic Filament Identification
Bambu Lab filaments use RFID which is read by the AMS to automatically identify and apply the best settings for your material.
The RFID tag is synchronized automatically to Bambu Studio.
Support Up to 16 Colors
Each Bambu Lab AMS is composed of 4 filament slots, and up to 4 AMS can be installed in parallel and supports up to 16 colors for stunning prints that truly stand out.
To achieve 16-color printing, connect 4 AMS via AMS hub

Compatibility
The AMS is compatible with P2 series printers with extra accessories needed.
Please make sure to select corresponding accessories in the add-on section according to your use case.
The AMS requires specific accessory configurations for various Bambu Lab 3D printers.
All accessories mentioned in the description need to purchase separately.
For X1 / P1 series Owner
To connect a single AMS unit to X1/P1 series printer, a Filament Buffer (SA003), a PTFE Tube Coupler (FAZ006), and a 4-pin Cable (CAB002-N) are required.
To connect multiple AMS units, an AMS Hub (SA002-N), a PTFE Tube Coupler (FAZ006), and a 4-pin Cable (CAB002-N) are required.
X1 / P1 series printer can connect up to 4 AMS units (including AMS HT, AMS, AMS 2 Pro).
For P2S Owner
To connect one or two AMS unit(s) to P2S, a P2S Filament Buffer (SA011) is required.
To connect more than two AMS units, a P2S Filament Buffer (SA011) and 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter(s) (FAZ013-N) are required.
P2S printer can connect up to 4 AMS units (including AMS, AMS 2 Pro) and 4 AMS HT units.
For H2S Owner
To connect more than one AMS unit to H2S, 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter(s) (FAZ013-N) are required.
To connect a single AMS unit, no extra accessory is required.
H2 series printer can connect up to 4 AMS units (including AMS, AMS 2 Pro) and 8 AMS HT units.
For H2D / H2C Owner
To connect more than two AMS units to H2D/H2C, a 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter(s) (FAZ013-N) are required.
For better performance, we recommend 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter II (SA014) for H2C.
To connect one or two AMS unit(s), no extra accessory is required.
